Everything You Need to Begin
To play World of Warcraft, you’ll need to set aside a small—and sometimes slightly larger—budget. Here’s what that means. If you want to play the newest expansion (in this case, Dragonflight), you need to buy the game, which is sold in three tiers: Base Edition €49.99, Heroic Edition €69.99, and Epic Edition €89.99. Each edition grants additional in-game items (listed on the purchase page).
After purchasing, there’s also a monthly subscription of €12.99 to keep playing. There’s a free option as well: you can try the game by creating a character up to level 20.
There’s another way to play: you can pay the monthly subscription without buying the newest expansion. The game will be fully available up to the most recent previous expansion—meaning you can access the older parts of the game up to Dragonflight. The latest content won’t be available until you purchase it. This is a good, lower-cost way to see whether WoW is for you.
